House Music was composed to celebrate J.K. Randall, a wonderful teacher, composer, and friend. The music was made from recordings I made of sculptor Emilie Brzezinski carving tree trunks. And, just as he often spoke of salient musical features as “big as a house,” I wanted my tribute to be made of materials that are used to build a house. There are of course other puns at play! House Music was recorded on Open Space CD 21.
