Tape Music on Spatial Music Concert

The surround-sound piece Tape Music will be featured by the Kirkos Ensemble on their Spatial Music concert at Unit 44 in Dublin. Part of Shatin’s Quotidian Music series, the sound sources all come from different types of tape being torn and distressed in various ways. The focus of this series is on music created from the sounds of every-day life. Each sound source is featured on a family of pieces including digital and electroacoustic pieces, with the latter performable by those without music training.
