Trumpeter Christopher Buchanan plays For the Fallen, for trumpet and electronics. Commissioned and premiered by Rovereto-based trumpeter Ivano Ascari, the piece was inspired by the Peace Bell in Rovereto, Italy. One of the largest ringing bells in the world, the Peace Bell was originally cast from cannons melted after WWI, and is rung daily in memory of the fallen in all wars. Christopher Buchanan performed it on the TechnoSonics XV: Found Sound program on 11/7/14 in Old Cabell Auditorium at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA, where it was presented by the McIntire Department of Music and the Virginia Center for Computer Music.
