Shatin’s Adonai Ro’i on program of Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin

Adonai Ro’i, Shatin’s setting of Psalm 23 in the original Hebrew, received its German premiere by the Rundfunkchor Berlin on the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester’s March 8 program at the Philharmonie Berlin, Grosser Saal. The program began with this setting and moved directly into Felix Mendelssohn’s oratorio Elijah. Written in response to the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin, it is available on Judith Clurman’s series, Honoring the Jewish Spirit, on Hal Leonard. It was recorded by her on the Divine Grandeur album on New World Records and is also available on streaming services.
